LANGLEY QUARTER
MIDGET ASSOCIATION
LQMA HISTORY
The Langley Quarter Midget Association (LQMA) is a non-profit organization specializing in car racing for kids aged 5-16. This sport features small competition cars, scaled down to one-fourth the size of midget race cars, powered by small one-cylinder engines similar to those found in lawn mowers. Nationwide, the sport includes regional and national championship races held each year.
Built in 1979, our track is the only quarter midget racing track north of the 49th parallel, located on Federal Government land, with all development financed through donations and fundraising.
LQMA is a solely member-run club, with everything from executive roles to work parties managed by members. On race days, parent volunteers are essential, showcasing the club’s unique community-driven spirit. While there is a lot to learn, which may feel overwhelming at first, assistance from all members is always available. Our focus is on providing safe, fun experiences for families and their kids in a 5-acre fenced safe zone where children can enjoy the outdoors. The track has a rich history, with many generations of racers returning, and it serves as a crucial stepping stone for driver training and eventual racing, with training typically held in March.
Our track offers various amenities, including a Snack Shack with coffee and snacks for parents and participants..
