RACE SEASON IS FINALLY UPON US!!! SWAP MEET

Good Morning Everyone!!

RACE SEASON IS FINALLY UPON US!!!

As a few who have attended the recent meetings know... I am looking to revive the LQMA Spring Swap Meet bigger and better than EVER before.

With hopefully nearing 20+ new drivers joining the club this year looking for new stuff and possibly some family's looking to change Engine classes or upgrade cars, now is the time for us to get together and acquire some of those loose ends or spares for cheap!

So whether you are cleaning out your shop, have grown out of last years gear, or interested in turning some extras or spares into some new tire money! THIS IS THE EVENT to attend! Please feel free to bring anything to the track you may feel someone else could benefit from. Items as simple as old racing gloves, to full on turn key cars, I'm sure someone out there could and would appreciate giving new life to this stuff. Likewise if you are looking for some stuff for yourself, what better time then now.

I know first hand as a novice family last year, just how challenging it felt to acquire what I needed to get involved, for a budget I was happy. With such a great group of people joining and with all the members we have, its important to me that we do our best to pay it forward and help each other out, especially as everyone is getting their stuff from storage and their cars fired back up for the season.

So on Saturday, March 10th @ 10am, I will be organizing a Swap Meet in and around the Hot Shute Area, where we can all be covered (should the whether not cooperate). Where all the new families will be attending Track Orientation and Ride Day, and I'm sure would be happy to meet a lot of us, as we welcome them to the track. There is absolutely no cost, just money back in your jeans.

Some Deets:

If anyone has or still connects with old club members that still have gear and stuff, PLEASE PLEASE pass along this info or forward it on to them for me! I'm sure they will love this opportunity.

I will also bring a pop up tent should we start to bleed out from under the cover if the turnout is strong. If you would like to do so for your own use as well I strongly encourage it. If you would rather sell out of your trailer, that works too, I will be blocking off the areas between the chute and snack shack for trailers interested in getting involved. Otherwise if we are all spread out all over the track people might be less inclined to wonder or introduce themselves and see what you have to offer.

If anyone has any questions or would like to inquire about anything in regards to this please don't hesitate!

ALSO LASTLY, I WILL ADD THIS:  If you have a few small items your interested in selling but don't find it worth while to attend for the couple bucks it might make, or you are unable to attend schedule wise but don't want to miss the sales opportunity, reach out to me and find a way to get your stuff to me and I can always facilitate selling your items on your behalf after a heavy race tax lol.

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR TIME! Hopefully see a lot of you on Saturday!

Sincerely,

Ryan van Baal

IMPORTANT QMA News for 2018!

QMA is striving to support our clubs and members like we have never done before. We are PROUD to offer all of our clubs our normal base K&K Insurance policy for FREE for the 2018 season. This is a savings of over $2,500 for every club's General Liability and Participant Accident coverage, including 2 offsite events per club. Yes, you heard that correct, FREE to our QMA clubs.

In addition, we have also made changes to our memberships in order to help us be able to put more focus this year on advertising and sponsorships for all of our clubs and our Grand National Events.

One big change regarding our National Events is that in order to qualify for the Grands you need only to run one of our Grands qualifying events which will be offered by every club. Each club will designate at least two events as Grands Qualifiers. This will give racers multiple opportunities to participate and qualify to race the Grands. We also have a new flagging procedure in the works and will be completed soon.

On the Tech front, we are listening to you, our members and you can now run those 140 valve springs in your Honda 120’s.

QMA would also like to welcome HOOSIER Tires as our spec tire for the 2018/2019 race seasons.

More information will be provided in the National Meeting short sheet or contact your Regional Director or a National Board Member for more information on any of these new member benefits to better the racing for our racers, clubs, regions and at Grand National events. Thank YOU to all of the attendee's at this year's National Meeting, the RD's and National Board for working together for the mission of QMA.

LET’S GO RACING!!
